Day 2 SAIL BOKA BAY Vienna Philharmonic musicians

Saturday, July 29
Meals: B,L,D

After enjoying a delectable breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on an exploration of the magnificent Bay of Boka using the traditional mode of transportation that has been used for centuries – by sea. During an unforgettable historic sailing boat tour, we will discover charming small coastal towns, including the picturesque baroque town of Perast, renowned for its glorious history, rich cultural heritage, numerous Baroque churches, palaces, and stone houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. We will visit the Museum of Perast and the Museum of the 17th century Church of St. Nicholas, as well as the Strait of Verige, the narrowest part of the Boka Bay, where the people of Perast, long ago, used to set up large chains from one side of the sea cape to the other, to prevent enemy ships from approaching the city. Along the way, we will also witness two significant islands situated in front of Perast – a natural island with the church of St. George and an artificial island Our Lady of the Rocks – a house of worship constructed on a man-made island in 1722 to honor and beseech the protection of the Virgin Mary. For lunch, we have planned to dine at the Conte restaurant in Perast, which offers traditional recipes updated in a creative and modern way with fresh local ingredients.
After a short break at the hotel, we will embark on a boat ride to the luxurious Porto Montenegro resort, where we will listen to the Vienna Calling concert at the Rubix Festival, featuring members of the esteemed Vienna Philharmonic.
